Spotted some new artwork from Bushra while I was chatting with Leen over messenger link.. This is a glimpse of the full study. It feels soft and gentle but sure there are deeper messages within. So I am looking forward to seeing the full canvas in detail.  Bushra's Art Gallery

Was able to show the family my Jasmine in the garden..Sabah el Jasmine this morning. Jasmine is highly revered in Syria. The perfume so beautiful. 

More knitting today in the garden on a lovely sunny Sunday. Finished the project and embellished with some embroidery..all done in sparkly yarn ..fitting for my princesses.

Dance book in Belgium

 

The dance book arrived in Belgium. Leen & Celine showed me this evening over a messenger call.. I love what Leen said ..pointing to Oti's photo on the back.. "This is real Oti..!" Then pointing to the illustration of Oti.. "but this is not real Oti.. it's a drawing!"  

She has been reading the names of the children going to the dance school and started to join in with warm ups and jumps and lunges... lol   She wants to take it to school next week to show her teacher and for her classmates to see. I think we can say this book is a winner. Thank you!  Shukran!  Dank u wel Oti for putting this book together.

Knitting arrived in Germany

 

Sehr gut! Well pleased with the speed of the post only posted the knitting on Monday. Just received a message from Asma to say the parcel arrived. She loves the garments I knit for Leanne.. to grow into..

I love sending my love and hugs through my knitting especially while we have travel restrictions. I would love to visit the family in Germany. Ideally I had hoped to have been there for both her babies & help out. 

But my Syrian mothers cope well. It is rewarding to befriend and thank goodness for the internet to message and call one another. 

Asma is Bushra's sister the overall family scattered between Turkey & Europe.

Fairy Garden fun

 

I have decided to make some Fairy Garden magic fun in my garden. It is fun to share over our video calls while I still can't travel to see my Princesses. One of our local garden centres, (Ansell's) has a range of fairy houses & trinkets to add some magic round the garden. Princess Leen loved the Fairy Garden and the idea. She does remind me if ever she has a house with a garden, she would love a tree house. So a treehouse with fairy magic corners would be fun. The little fairy ornament has a magic wishing well that lights up a night..lol with the magic power of solar power.

Golden Tears 

Last night Bushra sent me a video of her working on this study ..I love the way she plays her favourite Syrian music and is in a creative chilled out zone... lol while the girls asleep. I have given this piece the title of Golden Tears. There is a sadness and as if trying to hide from the sadness.  If you would like to commission Bushra or buy prints of her work contact me and I can link you to her..  marjoriebahhaj@gmail.com    All funds from purchases go to her for more art materials & art college fees so she can expand on her artistic career. Dance book arrived

 

This week Oti our lovely Strictly Come Dancing star has been promoting her Children's dance book on Steph's Packed Lunch TV programme. Knowing the girls will love this, I ordered this from  Waterstone's and it arrived today. It is brilliant so full of energy, lovely story and so beautifully illustrated.  I can't wait to show & read to Leen & Celine on our internet calls..we will have a go at learning the Bird Jive over this weekend ..then I will post on to them in Belgium.

Back home from school I called the girls in Belgium and showed the book ..they love love love it. Leen already working out the dance steps.. we have a plan to read together and dance together over the weekend.  Then next week will post it on to them. Such a pleasure today and brightened up the day. Oti your love of dance shines through and touches hearts to dance dance dance.
