Been developing some powerpoint slides for us all to learn together.
Boshra is keen to learn Dutch now she is in the Dutch speaking area of Belgium... She also speaks French and I am noticing her English is developing with our Skype calls. This will help her integrate with the other mothers when Leen starts school tomorrow... I have some basic Dutch too from when I use to travel to Holland in the early 1990s so I am keen to revise too...And we all need to keep up with Princess Leen our soon to be 3 year old... and absorbing all the languages around her....including my Yorkshire accent English... lol
The Family Link Up is like the UN with all our languages that are developing...
Turkish; Arabic; English; German; French and now Dutch......
When Boshra can get some work it will be a big advantage to have good command of the languages. She was about to graduate in Business Admin and is a keen artist too ... so some company or team will get a good asset with her as a team member.
There is as good learning platform Quizlet.com to help enhance vocabulary in an array of languages....I like the way that the quizlet keep throwing up words that you are weak on till you get strong at using and recognising them.

This is an earlier study as I break up the squiggly words to letters and get into the logic of their changes from beginning, middle and end. Each letter carrying a sound for me to pronounce the words. In contrast to English were we have more sounds than letters of the Alphabet and how English can be tricky to spell for L2 learners and pronounce! I enjoy cracking the code of Arabic - Meemie Jeemies learning as I call it..
I like the bilingual books that are available ... and actually with the illustrations you can adapt these for any target language too.. Boshra and Leen have these books now - so mother and daughter can work together...learning.
We are all learning and this is makes the Family Link Up project so fascinating and inspirational for us all... There is so much more I can do with funding for more resources and to help with visits too.
