I have had a lovely afternoon with my Grand daughters baking cookies for Boshra and the girls in Belgium.. We have made Gingerbread men, cinnamon lovehearts and flowers plus vanilla unicorn cookies... There was enough for us all.. so enjoyed some with a cup of tea together.  Now got a box of goodies to send to them in the post tomorrow... Including some sale tops for the girls and hand knitted tunic top and bargain cardigan. Plus some Neals Yard Remedies for Boshra. Marjorie's Yard

Season's Greetings

Beautiful photos in today from Boshra in Belgium.. and had some video footage of the girls singing together... was so lovely.  They are sending Season's Greetings to you all and saying thank you for your support. 

I will be getting them another parcel together soon... but continue to wish I had the funds to get over and spend time with them. They keep asking when am I coming to see them. Sometimes we feel we wish we could climb through the skype screen to hug, play and dance with one another. 

Tomorrow I will be packing up a parcel of clothes to send to their cousins in Turkey. I am busy knitting honey comb squares with left over wool to make another warm blanket for the family in Turkey. The honeycomb stitch is good s it doubles the layers.

Busy happy day today

This one photo sums up a lot done today.  I have been finishing another cardigan for the Family Link Up project this is for one of the older boys in Turkey.

Plus been getting more educational resources to trial with a local school where I am helping as a teacher assistant for a few hours a week.  The Maths and English books are brilliant and I am going to get some copies for the Family Link Up too. They will be great for kids and for the teacher parents to work with too.  The family members have a lot of talent & skills for them to develop careers and earn a living soon.  Once host country language mastered they will be an asset to their hosts.

With more art materials Boshra can help with some illustrations too for various subjects. Boshra and the girls have been asking when I am visiting them. I really need some help with funds to get over the Belgium to see them and have a good shopping session with them.  It is very frustrating as now there are some good Christmas markets and fun parks for us to enjoy too. 

I have been trying out some adaptive maths slides for Leen and Celine to understand in the languages they are learning by exposure. But the maths of course is maths whatever the language spoken. Dante feels he can use the books too for the families in Turkey.  He has received a parcel of mine today with a warm thick wool jumper I knit and some goodies..

Our Princesses wrapped warm for school

Got lovely photos through from Boshra and the girls in Belgium today.  Leen and Celine all wrapped up for frosty cold morning, ready for school.
I have put and inset in of Leen wearing the lovely light pink coat that was donated in 2016 that I took out to Eleonas Camp. It was part of the touching donation from Amira's mother. We had a great time distributing the clothes with other mothers in the camp. See post Taken with Love Received with Love 
But look what happens folks your donations of clothes or donations to purchase clothes get good wear as they pass down to others as they grow. 
The bright pink coat Leen is wearing is from a bargain found in the Age UK shop round the corner from me... and the pink boots Celine wearing from Age UK shop ... so I keep finding bargains...

and we have the Children to think about in Turkey too... so lots to do to keep everyone warm this winter.  I have been asked by Sainsbury's twitter to see if our local store can help as there are some great fur lined cardigans and fur lined shirts too... so that will be good if we can get some help or discount... I will update you on this later this week.

Keeping the kids warm

Got some photos in to share with you with the family permission of my knitwear and blanket arrived and being used in Turkey. lol I am assured my young man Ahmed does like his "I love you!" cardigan but he is a bit tetchy with teething..hence the tears in the pose... bless him.  The blanket I crocheted with the wool that my daughter got me for this purpose but put in some wool from other cardigans I have knit for their cousins in Belgium - so nice to link up the family this way. The baby has some of the knitwear from Age UK store knitter and from Carol in Uxbridge

URGENT FUEL FOR WINTER

Winter is coming now again and the families in Turkey will need funds for winter clothes, food and firewood for the wood burner... we have an elderly mother and young babies to keep warm and safe.

Unicorn Model

Boshra sent photos of Leen in her Unicorn Cardigan that I made her.... she looks good in it too...it will be nice and snug and warm for this winter...  

Can you help me raise funds for the trip over to Belgium and to get provisions for them, more art materials for Boshra so she can market her work and educational books and toys for the girls... Leen needs school clothes. Boshra needs some furniture particularly beds as they are sleeping on the floor at the moment. There is a reasonable furniture store near where they are housed. So we can give the local trader some business if there is the funds to purchase. We need to get some baking things for the new home kitchen and do some baking together :-) Stock the freezer up for the coming months. Can we do this together dear helpers? let me know of ideas such as coffee mornings and sponsored runs or cycles... anything that can help this project
