Halloween Dress Up

 

Tooth Fairy Parcel arrived

 

Leen woke me up earlier in the week to say the tooth fairy package I sent had arrived. ( my appeal won "Geen Kosten" no customs charge!) She was ready for school and wearing one of my knitted cardigans which made me feel happy. You will have to look back in the archive posts as I knit & sent that cardigan before the pandemic chaos. 

She loved the magic crayons and the fun elephant card. So impressed she was working out if African or Indian elephants.. we had months ago talked about African elephants having large ears and Indian elephants  small ones. 

Yesterday she rang me to show me another tooth fallen out!

Leen sees Amal photos

 

Leen loves Amal is so fascinated by the size of the puppet and how real she looks. She could see the puppeteer operator inside and how two others were working the hands. She was describing her to me in English occasionally trying to find a word. She loved her hairstyle. I told her how I had held her hand and was awestruck that I had.. Good messenger real time call today. She was laughing that she could dance with a wiggle of her bottom that made her skirt gently swish..  She saw photos of her visiting the children after the Swallow's kiss story.  I asked her as my Professor of Linguistics if she knew what the name Amal أمل meant in Arabic... She paused to think and said she didn't know ..so I told her it means hope. Then we tried to think what hope meant. Tried examples when you are looking forward to say a visit to the farm and you hope it will be a good day, good weather and fun. Or when there is a bad day when everything goes wrong and you hope it gets better with no more problems.

Swallows Kiss

 I was showing Leen the book I bought yesterday from the Southbank Centre Royal Festival Hall.. it was so lovely to see the children yesterday enjoying a reading of this book. All sat with their parents holding colourful cardboard made birds. I was telling Leen showed her photos and the book..We have had a lovely time of sharing. She was describing how she had made paper birds at school. 

She noticed as I showed her pages from the book how the children in the story had written on feathers in English & Arabic.

Tooth Fairy Discussion

 Today we have been discussing the issue of the undelivered Tooth Fairy Parcel and the new problems of customs to be paid now UK outside the EU.  Bless her she is understanding but would have loved her parcel with Magic Crayons in. I have said ...but the 20 euros charge is too much and the parcel may be returned to me!
