Art update

Last night I got these photos from messenger Bushra was working on her art and the girls were joining in. The art Bushra produced is colourful and captivating with her unique style. 

There is also some exciting news in that a group of Syrian women have come together and set up an Emporium Souk in Oostende. They have pooled their artistic and creative talents to produce ceramics, jewellery, art on canvas, trinkets clothing and edible goodies too. I am so proud of them all...and wish I could travel over to see and help them.  below are some still shots from an Arabic film that has been produced, but Bushra will get me some photos to share too.  I think this is a brilliant project to help them and the local economy. There is a major power in being able to link up and integrate into the community through art.  I love the T-shirt art and am sure the Belgium folk will too for stylish leisure wear. 

We are still needing funds for Art Materials for Boshra.

Busy time

Busy time update... it all started on Friday evening we had a skype Dance party me in my garden in Hayes and the girls in Belgium it was so much fun... then we talked about the Coronavirus and need to wear masks mondmasks... I asked if they had to wear masks in Belgium and Leen said "yes... let me get you mine to show you..wait there.." in English note.... then I heard her saying ""Oh I can't find it ... then ohhh its here....." she tickles me how she can chat on in English yet can switch in to fluent Arabic with mama and then Dutch... 

This is our mondmask compare... I am wearing one my daughter Nicola made me.

Then below is Sunday afternoon Leen Skype called me and it was when the Sunday repeat of The Voice Kids UK was on... so I showed her that lovely footage of Paloma Faith singing with one of the contestants  Lullaby Paloma with Ruby. Leen was memorised with this... 

The Smock tops arrived that I ordered from the Jojo Maman Bebe Sale  they look good with trousers, crop trousers and long shorts they were modelling with their short shorts and the socks too... lol reminds of 1969 when it was fashion to wear short dresses with shorts underneath showing I forget the name we had for that - trying to google 1960s fashion... gee did I wear those platform shoes tooo hhhh 

Sun & Fun

Missing these two princesses and it is great that they live by the seaside to enjoy walks and ice creams now the lockdown as been eased. So wish I could visit but the situation is not completely safe as yet.  Thank goodness for skype to keep in touch and have some fun sharing, plus thanks to the post of parcel deliveries of goodies and games to play and clothes to look smart in....

More Connection

This dress from Sainsbury's Hayes is still going and seems to be growing with Leen.. She will be going to uni in this at this rate lol  Do you remember me taking it to Athens and that day with visit to the Ice Cream parlour... and still this dress looks so pretty.....

I have put an update on the Art Materials gofundme as we still need funds for art materials, college and marketing. I am trying to get grants and need help from the college to apply for a Flemish Art Grant as Boshra qualifies to apply being resident. So I am trying to problem solve as I can in all this lockdown Pandemic crazy world we all find ourselves in.  I need to pick up on threads and leads I was making before the Pandemic.  One interesting lead was to see if I could get gallery space on a cruise ship but look now with this Pandemic how this is not viable at the present time.  Marketing and funding is facing lots of new challenges for sure for us all.  But if you can help you know all goes directly to the project. Let me know if you need any help too... I am getting into all this Zooming and Webinars to add this to my CV... even though now officially an OAP.

Loving the style & colour combinations

I have got another Jigsaw for the girls and will be posting it tomorrow with other goodies.  Very pleased with the Just Jigsaw company based in Derby.. The pieces handle well.  I will be ordering again and the company confirm they can send direct to Belgium.

Europe Jig Saw Learn..

So pleased with this Europe Jig Saw from Jojo Maman Bebe.. I have one here in London and now today they received another over in Belgium thanks to the company delivering direct to them.  It is brilliant as a tool to learn about the countries but also where the families live... Leen is already showing me where she lives in Belgium and as found out now with me where I live... Boshra has shown them where Asma and Adam live in Germany... There is quite a story to tell of where they were born and the journey to safety too... So welling up with the power of this educational tool.... 

We have been busy since my last post to this blog with more Skype sharing... we have been learning about lady birds to fit in with a school lesson and drawing ladybirds with a crafty way to learn about 2xs table as we count spots on one wing and match with another wing.   We have been have been visiting my garden on camera and watering the plants... Celine spotted the yellow flowers on my tomato plants and is excited that tomatoes will grow.. she loves eating tomatoes always has since starting to eat solids... Sunday we baked over Skype some Fairy cakes but wished we could have a Star Trek transporter to get to one another and eat them together.
