Words from within

Bushra puts words to her art as an expression of how she is feeling on her journey of healing and adapting to her new life...she has shared this on her facebook page.. Along with some words to another artists work that is expressing visually what she is saying from within. (see Below) She is alone with the her daughters as the marriage is over.. But as you read.... is being strong though at times feeling on the verge of collapse.  I do wish I could get out to her to help her with the girls and her life rebuild.  Not only have we got the pandemic in the way but I need to renew my passport as it expires in September...So we continue to have time on Skype and messenger shares.  It was lovely on Saturday as my eldest daughter called round to me and it was just at the time Leen called me.. So my daughter finally got to meet Bushra and spoke to together.. Though they are friends on facebook.  Both my daughters are impressed with how Bushra tries hard to heal and rebuild her life... Today I have been reaching out for help to gt her art printed and marketing.... and tomorrow the Kunst Academie an Zee opens for the new academic year and we have Bushra registered.

Book sent to me for the girls

This lovely pop up book was sent to me for the girls. I really do appreciate this and will be posting it out to them tomorrow. But in the meantime we have had fun over skype and with little videos of looking through the pop up pages.  Leen & Celine love interactive books...So thank you! Here is a look at the Usborne Pop Up collection and have a look at the amazing education at home books and activities too.. I have my eye on some for the girls for this new school year... Learning at Home

Duck Pond Market Inspires

This picture of a stall in the Richmond Duck Pond market shows what would be ideal for Bushra's artwork if we could get good quality prints of her work. I hope I can visit this stall next time there is a Duck Pond Market nearer at Ruislip. I need to get guidance from the stall holder.

Beautiful Family Link Up

 

These photos are incredibly powerful with the story behind them.  I have been quietly watching a wonderful reunion of two sisters after 7 years apart with only skype contact during that time.  Bushra was able to travel to Germany to see her sister, Asma and meet her husband and Adam their son.   Leen & Celine met with their cousin and was able to have time and fun together.  My skype call shows Bushra holding Adam and it was a magical time for me to be part of.  I had hoped to travel with them but the Pandemic got in the way plus I am needing a new passport.  It really feels as if the family are rebuilding their lives and adapting to Europe.  I have decided to just update on the blog as I feel the need to share... I am getting private photos and I feel my family and our Syrian family are bonded for life to keep in contact and help as we can.  I just need to solve the problem of getting Bushras artwork marketed with high quality prints, cards and some T-shirts prints....but it is good that the womenfolk are uniting to help one another.  I have become an active member of a Zoom women's group and feel together we will find solutions to help one another.  Sadly I am not getting enough orders from my Marjorie's Yard but with hope and luck and more networking will rectify this.. As the commission on sales will help me continue to help Family Link Up and the art project.  There are some photos of the trip to share with you below. 

The girls always able to model clothes and shame we cannot get some sign up with a clothes company to help earn for their future.  More photos below..

Realisation

Just got photos of girls wearing tops I got from John Lewis  Oxford street  I remember was first Tuesday in March on my way to the Anglo/Belgian Society meeting in London... gee that was last time in London as we went into Lockdown and of course these tops were to go with me to Belgium on the 12th March but i dare not go because of the pandemic! I am feeling frustrated I cannot go but our skype contact carries on... Leen called me and I was showing her Lulu Blanche new sleeping place lol in a box under the bed...
