6th Feb woke up early Monday morning to find out about the Turkish Syrian Earthquake and messages from my Family Link Up in Sanilurfa that they had be awake outside all night because of the Earthquake. Their apartment block remained standing but seeing other buildings was fearsome would fall .. it was traumatic with people trapped in rubble.
I saw the horror and magnitude of the quake on news & twitter!
So thankful my Syrian family I care for was alive uninjured. My Spanish artist friend Juan was with them and was relief to see him survived too. Videocall with them seeing all safe was so good ..
Being the caring person Dan is, he was helping other families that had lost their homes but safe. I have been connecting and linking up news reports and my family reports. Also letting them know what help on the way from charities. Roads and airport runway affected.
I was also getting a link up with Orhan, the Turkish husband of Juliya, my Ukrainian refugee family here in West London. Their Turkish family and friends had been calling from Adana another area affected. All survived. But areas were no survivors.
Grateful to Kay Burley in Sanilurfa reporting and seeing AFAD had arrived 8th Feb with tent shelters and food.

I liaise with NGOs & gov to see what help is available on large scale.....make reports for my MP John McDonnell and UNHCR legal team in London as my families are registered Syrian refugees and I attend APPGs to be a voice for needs. Though note UK parliament in recess from end of business today till 20th February... but members of Commons and Lords still can be emailed..
We are helping local Turkish community affected by Earthquake.. working together absolutely necessary. I am gathering information what is still standing and functional what resources in city to be able to purchase and access .. local trading important to help local traders survive for their families... this is immediately effective than trying to send parcels.
There are hospitals affected and doctors shouting out for Orthopaedic surgical equipment, anaesthetic, dialysis..ITU equipment...this I will help link to our teams here and international.. Twitterstorming their pleas.. for large logistical transfer and cope with geopolitics!?
There is a network of contacts offering help in other areas Turkey & Syria.. such as offering accommodation and food..with contact details we can link in with ..even offers of heavy engineering equipment to help debris removal...and location of departed souls ...we are in the time frame of very little chance of survival..relatives needing grief support 💔

🚨I am so frustrated seeing on the TV news the needs on a massive scale not able to get out to help ..but I can help by supporting my Syrians in Sanilurfa... trying to help network and coordinate link to other NGOs.. Today Family Link up got fresh bread to many families as my family run around on motorbikes to key points to get supplies. There is a well stock wood shed to get supplies of wood to burn for warmth and cooking ..
My family link up are scouting round for supplies and promoting message boards of local people offering help.
