Busy Update

The girls have been busy with the parcels I have sent. They enjoy the activities and the book where you can use coloured finger printing to complete pictures was a winner. I have  had time with Leen when Celine was asleep looking at the Kleine KinderBoeken to help to help with Dutch word building and recognition. They are beautiful illustrated and cover everyday words, shapes and numbers. So it helps me too. They have enjoyed and completed the sea jigsaw that I sent. This has served as good vocabulary builder in any of the target languages.
The lockdown as been lifted for the children to go to school..I had a lovely morning call waking me up with them full of energy all dressed & excited to go back to school and see their friends and teacher.  I had questions in English to answer lol Why is it dark...? lol I had my curtains close as was asleep... lol why you asleep..?. hhhhh was so funny... but so so cute.
Boshra has started Dutch school again and the Kunstacademie an zee is now back open but in limited times and numbers.  She still needs help with funds for art materials and marketing, so I have been researching Arts Grants in Belgium and asked if the Academie can help guide her through this.  We are still also open to donations so that I can send funds to her too and materials.
TURKEY update:  I have been trying to help with Dante and his social work to help a Syrian refugee that has a genetic eye condition that will lead to loss of sight. We with his permission had his medical notes and genetic studies so I sent them to a top London specialist but sadly there is no treatment for the condition.  So we need to prepare him... I have suggested we flood his minds eye with beauty, detail, colours shapes and forms to store for when he cannot see. Maybe he could do some art work or art photography and compile a book  about his life and story.  He needs also to augment his other senses of touch and spatial awareness when no sight. But it is difficult.  I have found braille in Arabic for him to learn. Our RNIB charity I contacted to see if they had contacts in Turkey and they have kindly got me the contact details of a Turkish Federation so this I have sent to Dante for the Syrian patient and community to contact for help and buddying up.
Family Link Up is my life and gives me much in the project to do and I learn so much too.
