Lockdown Link Up

We have been linking up with Skype, messenger and sending little films to one another. Lockdown here in UK and over in Belgium... I joined in with a flower challenge that is happening in Oostende to keep the children busy and to thank all the healthcare workers... Windows are being decorated with art flowers to show heartfelt appreciation of all the care and attempts to beat the critter of a virus. 
Our Link up as been intensified with knitting, reading stories, maths I have a powerpont slide for 3xs table with fun... we have done baking film share to build on English vocab, how to knit..and finding useful links to help Boshra to teach the girls..  Busy time in crazy worry time for us all  Keep safe and well all.

All the cards and coloured pencils and crafts bits and pieces arrived in Oostende today that I was to take if I could have travel... so not to be defeated by distance we have been linking up on messenger sending photos of crafts so me in Hayes and Leen in Oostende.. her sister Celine has also been joining in.. Like us all around the world hunkered down with the corona virus and schools closed it is a case of finding ways round the obstacles....

We still need help for Art Materials for Boshra to continue her Artwork too!

Thank goodness for Skype

 While we all hunkered down indoors with pandemic..thank goodness for Skype to keep in contact.. Belgium in lockdown and schools closed so amidst the fun with skype I will load some fun educational slides and films to entertain the girls...hopefully the parcels will arrive soon with activities & crafts I had planned to do when I visited over this week now cancelled ..but Boshra can orchestrate with them .. life in a turmoil for us all...!!!!

Art Update & Travel Update

I was to have travelled to Belgium today but in view of the Corona Virus WHO defined pandemic & some countries in lock down I decided it was best not to travel. Not for fear of my health but I was worried that given I would be travelling in total on 4 trains  that I could pick up the virus and transmit it to the family.  
So I am heavyhearted and frustrated that I cannot go and have time with them. We are intensifying our skype calls and sharing on messenger too.  Leen last night was proudly showing me her hands and saying how she was listening to the teachers and washing them to stop the virus spread. I have sent some funds too for Boshra to stock up on necessary supplies in case of lockdown there..

I had arranged the visit for a sharing of birthdays mine and little Celine and to be able to help Boshra with some art marketing and if successful in the first round of art judging for the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition bring back the canvasses for the second round.  But today we got feedback both in our account with the RA and emails that the work we submitted has not been selected for the second round.  The emails stated after careful consideration they were not selected.  So we feel a little deflated but not depressed as we will simply try again next year when the portal opens again.  From the way 2020 is panning out for us all around the globe maybe this year was not going to be so highly successful with the summer exhibition... so we now focus on 2021..

Boshra is developing an interesting style which the Kunst Academie and her Social worker are loving so there will be chance to find galleries and exhibit locally.  We will be producing some exclusive prints to market plus cards and other merchandise.... Actually we had a lot to do over the days trip that I have now had to cancel.... 
I have now posted the bargain acrylics and other goodies to her that was to have gone with me today if I could have travelled.

March Birthday Girl Update

Was in London yesterday for the Anglo/Belgian monthly meeting so spotted some gifts for Leen & Celine...... I like the tops from John Lewis with the Fiesten bicycles on as bicycles are so much a part of Belgium life..

Celine is 3 years old and has started Nursery school so it was good to spot this action book on I'm Starting Nursery in Waterstones Trafalgar Square.. When I visit we can have some fun using all our language skills with this. Tomorrow is World Book Day  and I have always ensured lots of fun books for Family Link Up.

Lovely the way the school teachers have a birthday celebration with the kids and yesterday was Celine's Birthday Queen day..
Happy Birthday lovely little big lady! Looking forward to having time with both of the girls again. 

Today in the post just received my order from my Twitter link up to ZebraMingo Crafts  I spotted the Lion and Zebra wash bags that Kristel had just made, so thought these would be good for the girls for taking washing products to school to freshen up .. or they may wish to keep their pencils in-I will leave it for them to decide. 

I have also been busy making another blanket for the girls as Leen was telling me over skype they like the other blanket... it is good to make us feel linked up.
