Another busy lockdown sharing over the internet. Well impressed with the speed my parcels get to both Belgium and to Asma in Germany. All have been received. So the knitted jumper for Adam, Asma boy - the cousin of Leen and Celine. Plus, the girls got their books toys and some Thorntons Unicorn Easter Eggs my daughter, Nicola had got for them. They love chocolate - yes I know Belgium full of chocolate but it is nice to send some treats from here. Boshra has made a pact with them to have pieces daily as treats. lool But also good for them to to realise this need to ration out treats. We have entered Ramadan and Dante and the menfolk in Turkey have been busy making up food parcels for the local families to be sure that they have food for Itfar as Turkey is in lockdown too.
This week had contact with the teachers of Leen & Celine, as Boshra had had a phone call but though her Dutch is expanding she could not understand all. So I was able with English to find out what it was all about. The school had some activity packs and educational materials to drop off and wanted to explain. Was lovely to have email contact with the teachers as I am so impressed with the schools in Oostende.
The girls got their princess jigsaw which we had done together over skype last week before posting.. lol I am smiling at Leen face in the "I have competed it" photo.. I think I need to get her next challenge level pieces..... But it is good that they are in the idea of jigsaw puzzles. There are some that are good for educational purposes for example to learn the countries of Europe and where they are. I have seen one that is for pre order on JoJoMamanBebe website that I will get for the girls to help them learn.
I have been translating with google the "Thats not my Unicorn" book into Dutch for us all to learn. I have some flash cards now to use over skype for us to learn together. They have a lot interesting things to do learning to read and write in all their languages.
Another blanket finished in unicorn colours, I showed Leen this in the making over skype and in English she said "Oh I like this Celine can have the other!" lol and she asked, "How you do this?" So was showing the knitting.
I have crocheted a border and finished off with some sparkle wool to add to the magic of the colours and them seeing them as unicorn colours.. It has been good to sit quiet and make this. Lulu helping as usual.
One of our local hardware stores as craft things so spotted this mirror shiny card. This morning I have been making a sea scene to show the girls. I have made little videos too... But they have not skyped yet for me to see and get to know their reaction to this as yet. I will update you on this later.
I have shown then stencils too and we have the words now in English, Dutch and my writing of Arabic. We will share the pictures view of the sea, the sea bed rocks and pebbles with my buttons as artistic representation hhh and the shell and fishes and seaweed. Blue Peter would be proud of me surely?!!
