Parcels arrived with excitement

Well pleased!! Photos just in the parcels I sent have arrived today with excitement too ... ;-) I knew some chocolate and biscuits would get her eyes aglow.... we both love our sweets... lol Celine loves her musical rabbit with teething ring that I got last week from Mothercare in Hayes..... Thanks to a friends donation I was able to do this... but I do need help for getting more support to the project...There is so much I can do to help the family both in Belgium and in Turkey.. We will always evidence that we are a direct hand to hand link up.... Help me to help rebuild lives....

Camp prepare for school

Yesterday the camp volunteers came round to give Princess Leen a school bag, pencil case, lunchbox and drinks bottle for her first day at school on Friday... A first visit to school to see... lool love the bag it looks a big as her..... I have asked Boshra to ask the school teachers what they need for us see if we can help.. I need your help dear readers of this blog ... as there are winter clothes and school books and teaching aids to get .. and in fun vibrant way with all the language learning too...

My goodness we have done so much in this time together... You my followers have helped to be part of the story with donations.... These photos are from Leen in Turkey and now in Belgium... so much as happened in this time..... and she is growing so much... I love my skype connections but would love to go and visit.... Registered for School

Princess Leen dancing and thinking...

and in a butterfly top we sent to her. She loves dancing and got all the moves from disco, to dabke to Arabic belly dancing hhhh  Do you remember, loyal readers of this blog, me telling you of the time we were in Athens and a Greek old chap was laughing - when me and Boshra looked over the pram there she was dancing her hands to the beat of some shop music she could hear in the street....  

Just got a message from Boshra that Princess Leen is now registered for school - nursery school and she will be taught in French... this is good as she is at the perfect time to absorb all the languages spoken around her.... both Boshra and me can speak some French so we will expand on our skills too... This is what I love about the project so much to learn & share together... I need to go down to South Kensington to check out some of the kids French books there in the French quarter of London....So I continue my appeal for not only winter clothes but educational tools too....I would like to get dual language books and resources too.... any donations of such or funds and fundraising ideas and efforts will be mega appreciated by me.... I would also like to go and visit Boshra in Liege to check out the area... from an online search I can see there is a famous market on a Sunday by the river.. I am wondering if Boshra could set up stall with some goods to sell once she has a work permit..... Got ideas and contacts to link up just need the funds to get all in action.... Contact me if any offers of help and even things like coffee mornings to fund raise or marathon running ..lol you not me... though I could do a sponsored swim .. it make take me some time to swim a mile but can do for sure... 

Do not forget this is just the family unit in Belgium we have the family in Turkey to help too... Parcels on the way

After the lovely day filming yesterday was able to get more goods and now three parcels sent out to Boshra and the girls in Belgium...So there is a mix of clothes and some baby cereals for Celine and a musical toy with teething ring some nappies and some milk food. Some nice biscuits for Boshra to share with the women when they call for a cup of tea...and some chocolates for Leen... and she has a game of snap one two three cards to learn her numbers ... in English Arabic and French and Dutch....  They should arrive in a week to ten days with a standard delivery... now I have confidence in the address.. the Red Cross are brilliant for ensuring that the parcels are given to Boshra in the camp.  I am thinking though.. it is expensive to post parcels.. as the weight soon adds to the cost.. I have asked both Boshra in Belgium and Dante in Turkey to go round the local shops for me... and get photos of what they need for themselves and the family with the local price tags for us to see... Then I think it would be good to send some funds to them to go shopping and for them to show us all what they have managed to get for the funds.... 

I will keep sending the odd parcels too as it is fun for the kids to receive and good to send some love from London too... There will be some more hand knitted things to send from Carole in Uxbridge and we need to think of fun educational tools to buy and send too... lets send some love to them all and know we care and that we want to rebuild their lives....

Me mother!

In the filming today I realise my mother's photo was in the film... This is my mother, grandmother to my children and great grandmother to my grandchildren...... here she is looking after a neighbours elderly mother, In the school holidays I would as a little girl sit and listen to this elderly lady .. used to enjoy all her stories.. This is where my heart was grown from me mother... she put care and compassion into practice... she cared for those in pain in the world...her spirit felt very strong today as I know she would have been active in this family link up with me.... as I am sure she is... Do you remember readers when last year I was given all the baby clothes from the mother that had lost her little girl to an incurable genetic disorder... you remember me having a washing and ironing day of the clothes - ohhh I could feel me mother around me that day so much..... You see that is what we are meant to be in this world caring and looking after one another.....I am busy getting another parcel to send to Boshra and the girls... and we need some help for the family in Turkey too for winter... lets send some love to them all and know we care and that we want to rebuild their lives....

Filmed today

Just had a very special time with a Syrian reporter, Wafa Zaidan and her cameraman, Yusef. They have been interviewing me about the Family Link Up project, but there are some interesting stories in them too, I enjoyed having time with Yusef as he is learning English .... I fear we have another Syrian wandering around now speaking Yorkshire hhhh ... we had a good laugh on accents.  I was telling him how Princess Leen had picked up on my accent too. 
Our main theme for the film footage was that we are a Global Family and like Jo Cox stated in her speech, " we have More in Common" as that Global family with our own families and just wanting to live in peace and be able to have the freedom to be creative and expressive of our talents and skills to reach our full potential.  or just simply Be..... so important that world leaders look after all the citizens of our Global family.  We do not need conflicts and there is so much pain to be healed in those that have been traumatised by war and conflict and had to flee for their lives.... Now we need to rebuild those lives together as a Global Family Link Up...

Book arrives

Another parcel gets through to Princess Leen with her book to learn English with Mama.... and the pictures and opposites shapes and colours can be used to increase her vocabulary in Arabic as well....lol she looks serious in the photo - I think I need to put some chocolates and biscuits in the next parcel I am getting ready.... she has a sweet tooth like me..... But must be some wonderful chocolates in Belgium..... I would like to go and see the family there to see what is around for them and for us to do some traders cross linking too......it would also be good to send some money for Boshra to have a good shopping session too..... He felt she looked so cute in this dress...looking so smart in Belgium.  Feels good that she is wearing a dress I sent.  I spotted in the Summer Sales here in London. Appeal for Winter, Visit and School books

I am still needing funding for my Syrian Refugee Family Link Up project. I would like to go and visit Boshra, Leen and Celine in their new camp in Belgium.  Also would like to get to Turkey to see Dante and finally be able to meet his mother. I have skype link and it is wonderful to see her so happy now with her family.  But to get out and see them would be good and to report on the situation in the community would be good.  I have also concern for the coming winter and the schooling of children. So would like to send some educational material to Belgium and to Turkey.  Dante can distribute the books and materials to the local community children and to his other sister still in Suleman Shah camp.  
I am a hand to hand link up ...

Celine on the move

Had a lovely afternoon of sharing on facebook chat. Boshra sent me a film they had just taken of Celine on the move..... Like her sister and the other babies she loves playing ball.... But look wallah she is so so determined to get this ball and does..... Bend it like Beckham. We were having a laugh at her legs up in the air as she reached and reached to get that ball..... This is what a love about this project to be a family together sharing as we all should be as a Global family... This time of sharing was shared with Dante and his mother, so grandmother of the babies and my daughter.... so between us link up Belgium with Turkey and with west London to the Lake District where my daughter is on her holiday week.

Lol and do you remember the boiiiing ball I got from Waterstones... they loved this and the noise it made in Eleonas Camp in March this year.... School and Winter

This summer month of August is not only full of summer holiday fun but plans for the School terms to start too.  Need funds to help with educational tools for both Princess Leen in Belgium and for Dante's community in Turkey.  Books in dual language would be great and language skills in French, English, Turkish and of course Arabic.... Evening of sharing

I had a very interesting evening at Greenwich library on Tuesday evening.  This was some of the amazing work that my friend Juan DelGado does with his project Qiestna - Talking Syria.  He connects hearts with the arts.... so we were linking with the author of Tiger and Clay - Syria fragments... Rana was reading to us and answering questions via skype from Istanbul... so at the centre meridan for the world we were linking up to the world.  

Juan has taken a lot of interest in my Family Link Up project too and help has he can too.  So I am happy to link you my readers to his project and to make you aware of all he is doing.   

Dante and I have lots of work to get published too.  We have lots of material for novels as well as factual reads... This week I have been trying to get a counselling article to editors for publication in journals.  It gives amazing insight into the pain of the war and the trauma and being a refugee. 

I met some lovely contacts at the evening too; and hope to keep in touch as we are all of the same heart to rebuild broken upside down lives.....This project is my life for the rest of my life for sure. August

This year is passing quickly cannot believe it is August.... and we are four days into it too..... Celine will be 6 months and growing so fast.... and Princess Leen looking more and more grown up every time I see her on Skype and photos....But I am really really missing getting out and about to see them and still desperate to get to Belgium to see how they are and what the plans for resettlement.  I miss hugs and laughs together. 

I have been contact with companies to see if they can sponsor me or offer help of some kind.  Not only have I got the girls to see but I am also wanting to get out Turkey to see Dante and meet his mother, after all we have shared over the last two years will be amazing to meet this wonderful woman.  I need to get them settled somewhere where they can rebuild their lives with some secure future.  I know like me Dante likes being near the sea... so many we need to think of relocating them to somewhere where they help in the tourist seasons.   So difficult we an only dream and plan till we can get some funds to make dreams and plans reality.   This family have a lot to offer and the link up can be awesome with link up of traders, business, universities and other teams and refugees....
