Advice and call for help please

This project is my life now for the rest of my life.  I learn so much and have gone through so much with this family... and there are so many other families and social problems to help out with too... it is an absolute need to help rebuild lives.  But I am in the process of rebuilding my life from domestic abuse and desertion by a scamming husband.  I think this is why we all click together as we are all traumatised souls that lost everything..... But equally we have a lot of talent, skills and expertise between us all.    

I am retired from clinical practice which was on health grounds, now recovered but I could think of a return to practice as an over 60 yrs to earn for this project and keep my sheltered bungalow.  I am struggling with an issue where the London Borough of Hillingdon are classing this project as income work so all the support for my sheltered housing has fallen away.  I do have a small NHS pension of £65 a month - yes month.... but as I was born in 1954 and the state pension age has been raised so I cannot get my state pension till 2020...!!

I am asking you can anyone help manage me - help fund raise for the refugee family and keep me out of practical problems help me get out to assess needs and link up this family and others..... as I cannot give up this project as I love all that it offers me in learning and expresses me as the carer I was born to be....... 

I do need someone to sponsor me, find me grants, help with donations, do fundraising events - just join forces with me to help me build this project for the benefit of all.....

I could sponsor volunteers if we had a good pot of funds.....and I could help with the idea of training the Syrian women in midwifery....  In all this I could keep myself with a roof over my head and have a base camp for all the connecting I do......

Where I am now in West London is handy for Heathrow to fly out to help anywhere in the world that is needed..... and I can use my freedom pass to get to Parliament to committee meetings and to lobby... and protest if needs be on issues..... 

BUT I am running into major hassle from the London Borough of Hillingdon and housing......my rent for the sheltered bungalow is actually not to bad by London standards it is £450 month and they want us OAP to pay council tax too but at reduced cost...... 

I have been applying for paid work in some interesting roles including in Parliament and in the EU parliament some have been shortlisted for but no offers .... and as you know all my letter requests for funding have been with commendation of all I am doing but they tell me there are no funds for what I am doing as an individual carer/befriender..... only organisations.

Like the refugees I and them need some financial dignity and freedom to rebuild our lives......and help so many others on the way too....

Sham in Turkey update

Sham did end up in a rocky patch post op and was transferred to a NICU cot in Gazientap. Dante is not permitted to visit due to restriction on visiting so has been feeling cut off from her.  But her father does say he should be able to give us all an update tomorrow. Please keep the prayers for healing surrounding this brave little lady after her tumour removal.....

Parcel to Eleonas

Another parcel off to Eleonas not a lot but some Hijabs for Boshra some biscuits the womenfolk liked on one of our ladies night tea and chat.... a non spill fun water bottle for Leen like an exercise rehydration bottle with fun decoration on ... then some chocolate Easter flowers and the local florist shop got me a small teddy to put in too...  Not a lot but just nice to get a parcel to know not forgotten and in connection....

House of Lords Friend for Sham

I was in parliament today to lobby in the House of Lords on a domestic issue that I am passionate about - that of women's equality and the right to support in times of need.  I could not resist this little fella with the some of the last of the donation funds......I really want to send this to our brave little lady baby Sham in Turkey to send our love to her....  

I have had a short message from Dante that she has been moved to another hospital for the rest of her recovery post op.... But I need to find out where and what is the update..... I am concerned as tomorrow is Day 2 post op and a need to be sure her FBC full blood count is done... as she could drop her haemoglobin levels after the large tumour removal.......But I am sure the Turkish doctors and nurses handover will be mindful of this...... so frustrating being here and not able to go to see her even though by the border....

So now I can get this parcel sorted which may be best to send to the address in Sanilurfa for Dante to collect and a small parcel to send to Eleonas Camp for Leen and Celine.... then our donations are over...... I need to find more ways to generate funding and long term healthy funding for more families to link up and help as we see their need.

Update on Baby Sham's op

I am told by Dante and Juan that the operation to remove the large tumour on baby Sham's back was a success today.  I am awaiting photos and further updates to share with you all..... Keep those prayers going to surround this baby with so much love and healing.  This morning I felt I was there and so wished I could have been in the nursing team to help her.   

Thanks to the Turkish surgical team for their care and expertise.

Love & Peace

This stood out to me yesterday in my tribute walk to Parliament and Westminster Bridge.  The Parliament staff feel like a family and indeed parliament has been a familiar place for me for the past few years has I campaign on domestic and international issues.  This Family Link Up project has taken me on a journey of understanding in Parliament committee meetings... So dear PC Keith that was lost is a sad loss to me too for he was always a familiar face with so much interest in all we talked about together. We would always end on some fun comment too.

Sisters Happy Mother's Day

Photos in today from Boshra at the Eleonas camp, Athens of my Princess of Smiles Leen and our new Princess of Sunshine Celine... even less than a month old Celine is also showing she too is full of smiles..... (and not wind lol) I noticed this when I was with her... her smiles really do seem true smiles as her eyes too smile with joy.... and a sort of recognition of me when I was with her...  Bless these girls and InshAllah keep them safe.....

Such a lovely sunny day here in London just thinking would be nice for Leen and me to be tidying the garden together with my grand-children and sowing seeds and planting flowers... Leen is such a good little helper and sure she would enjoy.

Baby Sham surgery scheduled

Update on Baby Sham in Gazientap Turkey .. thanks to the Turkish doctors she is scheduled for surgery on Monday to remove the dorsal thoracic tumour.... 

So lots of prayers and thoughts please... the family of Sham say thank you for your help and interest in them as it has been and continues to be a painful journey with their baby suffering this condition.  They will be sharing more of the story with us through Dante and the Euphrates post team..  Thanks to Juan my Spanish Artist friend that has been helping too.... we have managed to get some funds to Dante to help this family and situation.   But more is needed to simply surround with love...... Would be good to get some clothes and toys for her and just to feel our love around her.   

I have made the Doctors of the World aware of the case, plus had also informed the Royal College of Surgeons in case they could help too ... and thanks to Great Ormond Street for being on standby to help this little one if needs be...... Will as usual submit a report to the UNHCR here in London for file.

Thank you to Dante for his dedication to help his fellow refugee community with all the problems that are there to be addressed.   Proud of you man..!  

I have asked him to ask the hospital team if there is anything they need too from our kind hearts..... It is important to be a Global Family in this turbulent world of so many needs....

Another parcel collecting for Boshra

Collecting things as I see in the shops for Boshra today. Got some lovely hijab scarves from the local Age UK shop they have a new stock of new scarves. Then saw this nice non spill drinking bottle for Leen that she can have with her in the pram as they go out and about.   Been talking to Boshra and also Dante.... and wondering if anyone can sponsor her and the children to get to a safe country... maybe here in the UK or up in Scotland or over in Canada..... contact me if you are able to help. I am very fond of this family.  Though still saddened at the lack of parenting skills of Boshra's husband.  I await the social report on this situation.

Baby Sham appeal

This is the baby Dante has been helping. Under the clothing is a large dorsal thoracic tumor.. Prayers for this baby girl.  Her family were near airstrike attacks with alleged depleted uranium weapons. So the case is a very worrying one as to how many other babies could be seen with abnormalities. 

I have seen the tumour in detailed photos and there is a need for specialist dressings as I can see the early signs of fungating breakdown of tissue. 
Sham Ragheb Al-Mohammad was admitted to the hospital in the Turkish city of Killis and was subjected to medical tests to be transferred in the near future to the hospital in the city of Gazentap

Dante helps with the group that reports for the Euphrates Post and evidences all the atrocities so I cannot show his ID as I have a very touching photo of him carrying this baby into the clinic to be seen.  He has been getting some help from another friend contact too the reporters are saying translated from Arabic =  "deep thanks to all of the "Turkish authorities _ care international organization _ Assam _ Mr. Juan Delgado Mr. Alaa _ Spirit _ SALAH HAMOUI" for their generous casework baby sham Around the clock."

I am requesting medical reports and this baby needs MRI scan to see the extent of involvement of internal structures if at all... and I have been emailing the President of the Royal College of Surgeons to see if any teams are in the area to help the Turkish doctors with this case. 

Dante is a star for his hard work in the community and he also takes classes in Turkish to help him be more proactive and effective in the community.  He is very well liked by the Turkish locals for his keen interest in helping all.

Nepal in the Eleonas Camp

Some of the Nepalese Giraffes that Anna donated I gave to the children as they came to the cabin... The rest went to the Safe Healing Space in the Camp along with the finger puppet bags.... lol and everytime the boing ball was a hit with them for giggle share play... 

Parcel arrived in Turkey

Good the parcel I sent Dante in Turkey has arrived.  So now he has the donated Turkish Children's books to give to IMPR childrens centre - where of course the Syrian children are having to learn Turkish the host country language.  I put some goodies in the parcel and some of the vitamins for Dante with all the exhaustion he experiences he needs vit B complex supplements.  He is working hard in the community.  We will be showing you some photos soon. But some cases he is helping with are very badly injured with a long term need for plastic surgery.  We have had a case of a very bad cancerous tumour on the back of 2 months old baby.  Between Dante, Juan my artist friend working with refugees and his contacts, we have got medical help and thank the Turkish Authorities for accepting this case.  I am trying to present the photos of the case in a way that will not hurt you immediately with the shock of the condition and await the mothers permission to show this.  I have emailed the President of the Royal College of Surgeons to see if we have any teams out by the border to help the Turkish doctors with the cases being seen.

I have sent Dante some funds to help with the families he is overseeing and to help with all the running around.  He has a travelcard that I gave him for me to charge up with funds. This gives him the dignity of being able to use in the shops and cash tills... He has got his shirt and is pleased with it - lets hope this is a lucky shirt to get job interviews from the job applications we have put in. Remember I had helped with his CV....and application for paid posts.

So grateful to Uxbridge post office and the self service assistant that guided me through the parcel tracking and sending - so now I feel I have a good conduit to Dante for parcels of donations.

Dental help

Boshra is suffering with toothache and the army camp doctor did not have a dentist for her.  But thanks to my artist friend Juan that has a contact network we have got a Greek dentist to go along to visit her and treat her. Thank goodness. 

Blooms to heal

Daffs and jonquils out in bloom sent me from someone who is feeling my pain......Prayers for protection to this little one that her father will have more sabr (patience) and learn to love his precious children not see them as a nuisance and object of his temper..... if only he would spend love time learning with this little one.... I find her so enriching and such a pleasure to be with.... such fun and full of giggles..... a real gift of noor light from Allah.....

Walk round the camp

Look what we found when we walked round the camp... Chicken.... reminds of me of my time in India we had loose chickens wandering around in the street... 

The we have the camp cats that many have taken in as pets ...Here we have a Tom behaving like Romeo wooing his Juliet lol the young Queen on heat ... there is another Tom under the cabin too... popular lady... 

Then we find one enterprising young man as the camp barber.  But he says they have no money to pay me Marje.  Well they do in that you can put this in your CV and who knows one day you have your own salon.... He is being transferred to Germany this week... wish I could have been there to wave him off.... as I do not have his email to keep in touch and see how he gets on.  

Do you remember me telling you about Baseel the vet in Scaramangas camp ... he is now in Hamburg with his wife Ameera.... so happy for them as they have a lot to offer the local community there.  So you see we have some good proactive refugees that are determined to rebuild their lives.  I enjoy meeting all in the camps and share time with them.. miss my little companion Princess Leen so much.  I pray she is kept safe.... I have spoken to Mona one of the English speaking refugees and she promises to help Boshra and keep an eye on things too..

Leen was walking round with me to the Safe space healing centre and found these bars, she ran to them and she enjoyed swinging on them - do we have a future Olympian?  

Further in the camp they are in the process of putting in a playground area with slide and swing......This is Leen with Boshra a few weeks ago in another play area. 

Women evening

Loved the womenfolk evenings we would have a laugh and good talks about the men.  We were talking about Language learning being the key to rebuild lives.  Boshra is attending school on site in the Women's centre... so well pleased with her.  The women feel they are often too busy with the children but want to learn.  I was telling them about Ursula von der Leyen the minster for defence in Germany that has 6 children but in senior politician role....  Then one of the women tells me she is expecting seventh baby.... we laughed when I said then a key to the bedroom door is necessary now...... but then I get to know he has two other children to his second wife......  Get to know all sorts in my Yorkshire lass sit with with Syrian womenfolk. With goodies to share from the local Co-op here in London, that was double choc cookies and some Zaytoun Palestinian dates... that I took over....  (Photos with permission and understanding will be on this blog)
